Trevor Immelman and Robert Karlsson have been forced to withdraw from the Open Championship at Turnberry, which starts next Thursday, due to injury.
The South African withdrew from the Memorial after experiencing discomfort in his left wrist for a number of months, and the injury was later diagnosed as severe tendinitis with tears in the cartilage.
"My wrist injury has been responding well to treatment, but at this point, it just isn’t far enough along to allow me to be ready for the Open," said Immelman.
"As disappointing as it will be to not be there, I have to continue doing what’s right for my long-term health."
Meanwhile, last season's European number one Karlsson will miss Turnberry because of a continuing eye problem.
The Swede has not played since the European Open in May and his balance and vision have been affected.
It was first thought to be an inner ear infection, but fluid behind the retina was detected and the 39-year-old has been told it could take six months to heal.

"I'm just looking forward to getting through it and back playing," he said. "When that is, though, I just don't know. I'm taking it week by week."
Replacements may not be required since the field is set to be 156-strong even without them.
