Britain's Best Putter: Local Qualifiers
A sum up of the results of the latest local qualifiers from the BBP competition
With results coming in from different areas of the country, here is a sum up of the finished competitions so far.
Over at Ponteland Golf Club, the competition was run over two days, on a course of seven holes. Each entry made a small donation to the chosen charity, in this case Children North East.
The winner, Chris Espiner, finished the course in 10 putts, while second place, Greg Waugh, went through with twelve, after countback.
At De Vere Herons' Reach Blackpool, the players braved bad conditions to get out on the nine-hole course.
It seemed that the players that waited until later in the day fared better, with the winner, Paul Audis (16 putts), and the runner up, David Bentley (17 putts), playing near the end of a long day.
David managed to secure second place after beating three other players in a card play-off.
At the Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club, the organizers used a slightly different approach, starting with a full 18-hole stroke play round on their nine-hole practice putting green, from which the best 8 players advanced to the knock-out phases.

In front of a large crowd, the last eight played on, until they reached the final.
The final was closely fought, with the two finalists finishing all square after 18 holes.
On the first extra hole, the winner, Stuart Green, sank the putt after the runner up, Mark Cookson, narrowly missed.
Mendip Spring Golf Club's winner Geoff Wilcock will also be advancing to the regional final.
After the winners and runners-up have heades to their regional final, a few will advance to the Grand Final at The Belfry where someone will be crowned Britain's Best Putter.
