The WaterWorks Golf Centre, an 18-hole, par-three course located next to the WaterWorks Nature Reserve in East London, has been nationally recognised by RangeMark - incorporating the English Golf Union, the English Women's Golf Association and England Golf - as an apt facility for both juniors and beginners.
RangeMark, an organization which recognises those stand-alone ranges that are at the forefront of developing golf, has named WaterWorks - located within the award-winning Lee Valley Regional Park - as a starter centre suitable for both beginners and those who wish to practice their short game.
RangeMark regional development officer, Steven Peet, said: "I am delighted to be able to award the WaterWorks Golf Centre with the prestigious EGU/EWGA RangeMark accreditation.
"The centre provides an opportunity for everyone to experience playing golf and be introduced to the game in an informal, fun and safe environment."
WaterWorks, which is developing strong links for new golfers with Lee Valley Golf Course in Leyton, also delivers tri and extreme golf tuition to schools throughout Hertfordshire and Essex.
Angie Oliva, centre manager at the WaterWorks Nature Reserve and Golf Centre, said: "Achieving RangeMark accreditation gives a huge boost to our golf centre and highlights the opportunities we provide for children and young people in socially deprived areas to try their hand at golf."
