Oceânico Group wins gold in prestigious Homes Overseas Awards
Oceânico Group’s Amendoeira Golf Resort, near Silves in the Algarve, has won Gold in the category of Best Golf Development at the recent Homes Overseas Awards
Oceânico Group’s Amendoeira Golf Resort, near Silves in the Algarve, has won Gold in the category of Best Golf Development at the recent Homes Overseas Awards. The Homes Overseas Awards, recognise the best overseas property developments from around the World, and are judged by a panel of national and international property experts. A record number of entries were received for the Best Golf Development category, with Oceânico’s Amendoeira Golf Resort winning Gold for its quality of build, design and range of facilities, providing investors with an exceptional golfing experience.
Nikki Loker, Sales & Marketing Director of Oceânico Group, said: “The Homes Overseas Awards are extremely competitive, with entries from around the World and every development visited by the judges. To win Gold for the Best Golf Development is a fantastic achievement and underlines the commitment we have made to create a world-class golf experience.
“The golf courses and clubhouse, which are now open, are receiving outstanding feedback from visitors, and with phase one properties due to be completed early next year we are looking forward to welcoming owners and guests to what now really is an award winning golf development.”
With two spectacular 18 hole championship courses, designed by six time major winner Nick Faldo and Ryder Cup legend Christy O’Connor Jnr, Amendoeira has been earmarked as one of Europe’s hottest new golfing destinations. Over 400 luxury villas and apartments as well as the Amendoeira Sporting Club, which will include tennis courts, football pitch and swimming pool, are also under construction, making Amendoeira the most significant new development in the Algarve in recent years.
The Oceânico Faldo Course is a par 72 Championship course set in the stunning hillsides of Amendoeira. It has been designed, as with all Faldo courses, with strategic play in mind that provides a good test of golf to Professionals and occasional golfers alike. Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course, whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil in contrast to the arid hillside, the Christy O'Connor Jnr designed course offers no less of a challenge. It features lush landscaping and orange groves in a low-lying valley where large areas of lakes and watercourses demand accurate play.
With the opening of Amendoeira last year, Oceânico Golf has increased its portfolio to seven championship venues in the Algarve, as the company also owns the five courses at Vilamoura - Oceânico Victoria, The Oceânico Old Course, Oceânico Millennium, Oceânico Laguna and Oceânico Pinhal. As a result, Oceânico Golf is setting the standard for golf courses in the region.
