Dormy revamp at Gleneagles
The Dormy Clubhouse will undergo a major makeover as Gleneages gets ready for the Ryder Cup in 2014
The Gleneagles Hotel is set to undergo major refurbishment, as the famous Dormy Clubhouse (situated next to the 18th green's of the King's & Queen's courses) will be boosted by £2.5million of funding.
The project is part of an ongoing development programme for the Gleneagles complex, as they prepare to host the 2014 Ryder Cup matches. Since 2007, over £18m has been spent to ensure the facilities remain at the forefront of the luxury hotel industry.
During the closure of the Dormy Clubhouse, alternative facilities will be made available to golfers and extra transport put in place so that access to the Gleneages courses is not compromised.
Plans and artists impressions are to be put on public display in the Dormy Clubhouse before it closes on 17 October to illustrate what the newly designed version will look like. Gleneagles have confirmed that the clubhouse will be scheduled to re-open around April 2011.
