Callaway has unveiled the Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge, which comes in three grinds, eight lofts and two finish options, giving you the best chance to find your perfect combination.

Offering Callaway's most complete wedge line up ever, the Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge's unique grind and groove package will also cater for every condition, swing style and type of shot.

The Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge will sit alongside the new Callaway PM Grind wedge, and will replace last year's Callaway Mack Daddy 2 wedge, which features in our 'Best wedges of 2015' guide.

Crafted and shaped by Roger Cleveland, the new Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge comes in a choice of three different grinds; S-Grind, W-Grind and C-Grind, as well as a Satin Chrome or a Matte Black finish option.

Milled grooves and laser micro grooves increase friction to add spin control, while a new Progressive Groove Optimisation system sees different groove patterns used for different lofts, which helps increase spin for added versatility and performance.

Commenting on the new design, Roger Cleveland told GM: “Typically, a player will create their most spin with around a 50° wedge and their spin will then drop off as they go higher in loft. However, thanks to Progressive Groove Optimisation, our new wedge generates greater spin as the lofts increase, delivering maximum control when and where you need it.

“We managed to do this by increasing each groove’s wall angle and therefore the aggressiveness. So as you move higher in loft we can now give players better control and the ability to stop their shots more efficiently.

As well as the Groove Optimisation, three sole grinds are on offer to to match various swing styles and the typical conditions you may encounter. They include:

Callaway Mack Daddy 3 - S-Grind

The S-Grind is the most versatile sole grind, performing well from a variety of ground conditions and catering for more neutral swing types.

Callaway Mack Daddy 3 - W-Grind

The W-Grind has a slightly wider sole and is perfect for the golfer who play in slightly softer conditions, or who have a tendency to come in steep with their swing. It is also great out of the sand.

Callaway Mack Daddy 3 - C-Grind

The C-Grind is designed to perform better from firmer conditions and is more versatile around the greens thanks to its narrower sole and heel and toe relief that makes it easier to open up while keeping the leading edge low.

Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge specifications

The new Callaway Mack Daddy 3 Milled wedge will be available from September 4th and feature a True Temper Dynamic Gold Wedge shaft and Lamkin UTX grip as standard.

Loft options will include 46°, 48°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 58° and 60°, all at £109 each.
