american golf has sent Afghanistan-based British troops a selection of golfing equipment as a thank you for their hard work and dedication.
With Remembrance Sunday just around the corner, the retailer has provided a golf practice net, balls and a set of irons and drivers to a group of 20 soldiers from the RAF's Mechanical Transport Maintenance Section.
The RAF members stationed at Camp Bastion will now be able to hone their golfing skills during their respective tours of duty.
The RAF has been staged at Camp Bastion - the lead military base for British military operations in Afghanistan - since 2001.
The site - situated in Helmand Province in the north west of the country - accommodates 28,000 armed forces service personnel.
"Our forces do a tremendous job, despite the challenges and dangers that they face every day," said Lindsay Brown, american golf's CRM Manager.

"The package of golfing equipment is a small token of our appreciation for the work they do."
Wes Mills, a Senior Aircraft Technician for the RAF, added: "Our lads work 12 hours a day, seven days a week in blistering 40-degree heat, so this kind donation from american golf provides a bit of light relief for our troops.
"While it might be boosting morale, I don't think Rory McIlroy will have anything to worry about!"
