Big Bertha Fusion Irons - £999(g) £899(s)
Design and Tech Benefits The idea behind the TPU Senset is to reduce vibrations and hollow noises and replace them with a responsive feel and crisp sound. The lightweight titanium face insert allows weight to be positioned at the perimeter of the clubhead for greater stability when the strike isn't out of the middle of the face.
GM VERDICT Callaway's new Big Bertha Fusion Irons are hard to miss. The distinctive new look screams technology (as the diagram suggests) and the striking black TPU SenSert promises a powerful strike. The top-line is thick enough to suggest a powerful strike without looking too chunky and lacking in feel. Callaway have really pushed the boat out to find the sort of cutting-edge technological benefits that have real game improving qualities. The price-tag is the main draw back, but they are certainly worth considering.
