Hippo Hex Fairway Wood and Rescue Wood
Hippo Hex Fairway wood £59.99 (g) and Rescue wood £49.99 (g)
Design and Tech Benefits
Hippo is augmenting its Hex line-up with these new fairway wood and utility models. Both retain the hexagonal shape of the existing driver ? a design which optimises weight distribution by allowing more clubhead mass in the rear corners ? with light carbon fibre side rails helping to save the weight that allows this unusual head shape. The promised benefits are increased stability, and more accurate results on mis-hits..
GM VERDICT
Visually I preferred the 3-wood as the utility?s angular shape seemed oddly accentuated by its smaller size. But the latter edged it for performance, proving easy to flight and easy to hit dead-straight. As is often the case for me, the 3-wood worked best off a tee. But at these prices, both represent very good value for those willing to experiment on the shape front. T: 0870 428 1778 W: hippo-golf.com
