Footjoy completes major grand-slam

Rory McIlroy won the 94th PGA Championship at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course to ensure a major clean sweep for FootJoy

FootJoy claimed an unprecedented Grad Slam of Major Championship titles on Sunday as brand ambassador Rory McIlroy stormed to an eight-shot victory at the 94th PGA Championship.

The Ulsterman was unstoppable at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course, trusting the superior comfort, performance and athletic styling of FJ Sport golf shoes and the unrivalled grip and feel of the FJ Pure Touch glove to guide him to a second major championship victory.

The win moves him back to number one in the Official World Golf Ranking - which features eight FJ loyalists - and gives him the chance to emulate fellow FJ user Luke Donald's historic achievement of winning the PGA and European Tour Money Lists in the same season.

McIlroy joined 2012 major champions Bubba Watson (FJ Icon), Webb Simpson (FJ Icon) and Ernie Els (FJ Icon) in trusting the all-round excellence of FJ to deliver the biggest prizes in golf.

FootJoy also possessed a dominant share of the shoe and glove market at the season's final major, with 56% of the field wearing FJ shoes (compared to its nearest competitor's 19%) and 34% using FJ gloves.

"Rory's achievement last night was nothing short of extraordinary and secures a historic Grand Slam of major championship wins for FootJoy in 2012," said Russell Lawes, FootJoy's European Marketing Manager.

"For our brand ambassadors to complete a clean-sweep of golf's most prestigious titles is a magnificent accomplishment and is an undoubted sign of the quality and performance of the market-leading brand."

Whether it is the all-round excellence of the FJ Icon or the sports performance of the FJ Sport, FootJoy remains the clear favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
