Major champion Paul Lawrie presented Golf Monthly subscriber, James Pickering, with a brand new set of customized Wilson Staff clubs at the Wentworth club on May 20.
Pickering was the winner of the reader survey from Golf Monthly’s December 2013 issue.
Having submitted the most impressive memory of Wilson Golf in Golf Monthly’s reader survey that celebrated the manufacturer’s centenary year, Pickering boarded the Wilson Staff Tour Truck at the BMW PGA Championship to learn more about his new equipment from club maker, Phil Bonham.
Lawrie, an eight time European Tour winner, presented Pickering with Wilson Staff c100 irons, FG Tour M3 woods, FG Tour TC wedges as well as a neXus carry bag.
Reflecting on the day, 12-handicapper Pickering from Sheffield said, “it was a fantastic day out and to have my new clubs presented by a Major champion like Paul was a moment I’ll never forget.”
Always having rated Wilson Staff equipment highly since his first set of Wilson Staff irons as a junior, Pickering commented, “I’m delighted to have Wilson Staff back in the bag once again.”
