Tour Level Performance With Unmatched Durability: Introducing The Lux G Golf Shoe From TRUE Linkswear
The newest addition to the Lux family of golf shoes from TRUE Linkswear combines premium performance with supreme style and comfort, making it one of the best hybrid golf shoes of this year
Golf footwear has come a long way since the days of plain black or white shoes with metal spikes. The modern golfer is spoiled for choice with a huge variety of styles and designs to choose from. Some are designed for winter golf, others for summer. Some have spikes, some are spikeless, some retain the classic design while others have a modern, stylish look. Indeed, golf fashion has evolved so much that many golfers now wear sneaker style shoes that perform just as well away from the golf course as they do on it.
One of our favourite brands is TRUE Linkswear, a relatively new company based out of the Pacific Northwest that excels in producing spikeless, comfortable shoes with modern styling. The brand was formed by brothers Jason and Ryan Moore in 2009. Ryan is a PGA Tour pro who you may remember sinking the winning putt to clinch the 2016 Ryder Cup for the US at Hazeltine. While his primary focus remains competing on Tour, Ryan has a passion for helping TRUE produce trendy, comfortable shoes for a younger demographic of golfers.
One of the most successful shoes in the TRUE Linkswear family has been the the Lux Hybrid shoe, which was our pick as the best shoe for off course wear and also made our Editor’s Choice list for 2023. The Lux Hybrid stands out due to its versatility and all round performance which makes it one of the best golf shoes for walking. Now TRUE Linkswear have taken everything that is great about the Lux Hybrid shoe, and improved upon it further with the new Lux G, which combines tour level performance with unmatched durability.
With a silhouette very similar to the the Lux Hybrid, the new Lux G features a new, neoprene easy-on collar system and TPU coated mesh upper, offering a secure, comfortable fit while providing long-lasting durability and supreme waterproofing capabilities. Traction has been improved with a mountaineering grade rubber tread system, while comfort is enhanced with a rubberised saddle and EVA comfort insole.
Combine these updated features with classic Lux offerings such as the WANDERLUX midsole and Achilles heel pad (which ensures stability throughout the swing), and you get the Lux G, one of the most versatile and impressive shoes to hit the market in 2024.
In addition to the premium looks and comfort that makes the shoe ideal for use on or off the course, the Lux G is packed with innovative technology and materials to ensure it can deal with rain, sand, dirt or whatever else a golfer is faced with. The entirely new upper is designed to remain comfortable, flexible and will keep your feet feeling fresh for the entire round. Despite being fully waterproof the shoe remains breathable and easy to clean too, thanks to a new durable coated mesh vamp.
This is vitally important given that all shoes in the Lux G family are either mostly light colors or at the very least contain significant sections of white. Keeping light colors clean has often been a problem, especially with mesh designs, but these shoes buck that trend and this is a shoe that you can get dirty, wipe down and repeat.
The Lux G is a brilliant option for summer golf or for golfers who are fortunate enough to live somewhere that enjoys nice weather all year round. They offer supreme comfort and excellent performance on the course and the stylish sneaker design means you can wear them day to day without them standing out as golf shoes.
The Lux G is Tour tested and approved and comes with a 2 year waterproof guarantee. The shoe retails at $175 and is available in black, white and grey, while there is also a Women’s Lux G which features an additional Soft Rose color option.

Dave is a distinctly average golfer with (fading) aspirations to be so much more than that. An avid collector of vintage Ping putters and the world's biggest Payne Stewart fan, in 2021 Dave turned his front garden into a giant putting green to work on the weakest area of his game. Progress has been slow but steady! In addition to his work reviewing golf gear and writing features for Golf Monthly and T3, Dave is the founder of the Bang Average Golf website.
Dave’s lowest round is a one over par 73 around Kirkby Valley Golf Club in 2018, which included a bogey on the 18th to ruin the one and only chance he’ll ever have of shooting an even par or better score. That errant tee shot on 18 does not still haunt him to this day though, in fact he hardly ever thinks about it. No, honestly, he doesn’t. Not at all. Never.
Dave splits most of his golf between Hurlston Hall Golf Club in Ormskirk, Lancs, and Berrington Hall Golf Club in St Helens and has a handicap that fluctuates between 9 and 12, largely depending on how poor his putting is.
