Bradley Dredge: Tour Talk

I have to say it's been a pretty pleasing last month or so, some good performances on the course, a fantastic Seve Trophy and some big snooker winnings of course the only black spot has been Wales' early departure from the Rugby World Cup, actually it's still too painful to talk about I'm afraid, so I will move on thank goodness Vijay Singh plays his golf the other side of the Atlantic! Luckily my schedule has been so busy so I hadn't slotted in any time off to watch the matches live, and now I will be gently avoiding the tournament.

Anyway, first to the most important sporting achievement: I have been dominating on the green baize. I've hardly lost a frame this year and my good friend Richard Bland is taking a massive beating. In fact, he is single-handedly subsidizing my wife's rather extravagant shopping habit. Long may I continue with this kind of form or else the bank manager might start to give me a bit of a niggle.

Crans Sur Sierre is fast becoming my favourite venue on Tour, it helps with a first and a third! But on a serious note, it was fantastic to go back and defend my title in a respectable style. You can't help but feel great about life at Crans, the atmosphere, scenery and quality of the course are all of the very top draw not to mention the food.

Teeing up on the Thursday morning as defending champion gave me real confidence and I felt that I could play good golf and challenge for the title again, which is a fantastic feeling to have at the start of a tournament. In the end I could have won it but hats off to Phil Archer and Brett Rumford they played great and what a chip-in to win it.

It felt pretty good to get such a start in the Ryder Cup race. It's a huge aim, in fact the ultimate target for next year, to make the team. I have just played the Seve Trophy and loved it, so taking on the Yanks is top of my agenda. The team spirit at the Heritage and the atmosphere of the event was just electric and I really pleased myself by playing well under that different kind of pressure. So that takes care of my focus for the rest of the year, as well as trying to win the World Cup again and qualify for the HSBC Champions event so just a few little things to keep the mind on!

In between, I'll be looking to get back to my roots a bit and play at Bargoed with my old mates. Although I have to say they try and stitch me up by making me play off +7 you don't win much cash off those numbers I can tell you. I'll also be looking to get to Mill Ride, where I am attached, for a bit of winter golf.
