Editor's Letter May 2014 Issue
Welcome to your new look Golf Monthly! This issue sees the debut of a fresh design that showcases lots of new sections and features.
Our aim is to offer you even more entertainment and value for money and many of the changes we’ve made are as direct result of the feedback you gave us in last year’s reader survey which over 5,000 of you responded to.
It’s been very much a team effort with everyone contributing ideas and inspiration but I’d like to offer a special doff of the cap to managing editor Alex Narey and art editor Stephanie Atkinson who have led the revamp.
The changes are too many to list individually but my personal favourites include new columns from Tony Jacklin and playing editor, Andy Sullivan, a stunning new section at the front of magazine and a bonus tips section at the back that aims to help you get better, quicker.
Talking of speedy improvement on the last page you’ll find the inspirational story of GM reader Gary Cassells who picked up a golf club for the first time in 2011 and made it to category 1 by the end of last year!

This new ‘I did it’ page has meant the editor at large Bill Elliott’s column has moved home. You’ll now find his wise words on page xx and he’s also written a quite superb piece on rivalry in the professional game and why we need more of it in 2014.
I hope you like the new look and features and please do let us know what you think either by letter, email or social media.
