Open Championship Fantasy Golf Picks:
USA 1: Dustin Johnson - The US Open and WGC-Bridgestone champion is the world's hottest player right now. He's got a good record in the Open, with his best finish coming back in 2011 where he was T2nd behind Darren Clarke at Royal St. Georges.
USA 2: Jordan Spieth - The Texan lost his ball striking earlier this year but appears to have found his game again. Since his Masters collapse he's won the Dean & Deluca for his first PGA Tour win in Texas and finished T3rd at the WGC-Bridgestone last time out.
GB: Danny Willett - The Masters champion has been playing some decent golf since Augusta with his best finish coming at Wentworth where he ended 3rd. He also came T6th at St. Andrews last year for his best Open finish.
Ireland: Rory McIlroy - The world number four and 2014 winner will feel like the defending champion, having missed last year's tournament after his infamous football accident. This season he's won the Irish Open and most recently came 3rd at the Open de France.
Scandinavia: Henrik Stenson - Stenson is my favourite for the week. The BMW International Open champion is one of the best off the tee with his strong 3-wood which will be vital to avoiding the pot bunkers and thick rough.
Rest of Europe: Sergio Garcia - The Spaniard, like Stenson, is brilliant off the tee. He can hit that low, bullet drive which will come in handy on the long back nine into the Ayrshire prevailing wind. He came close at Oakmont last month too, could now be Sergio's time?
Asia: Hideki Matsuyama - Matsuyama won in Phoenix earlier this year, beating Rickie Fowler at TPC Scottsdale in fine fashion. He's finished T7th in both the Masters and Players Championship since so is clearly a man for the big occasions.
Africa: Louis Oosthuizen - The 2010 St. Andrews champion nearly won last year, losing out in the play-off to Zach Johnson. He's one of the best ball strikers in world golf and has proved he can win on the links.
Australasia: Adam Scott - The Aussie has one of the best records in the Open in recent years, in the last Opens he's finished 2nd, T3rd, T5th and T10th. He hasn't missed a cut on the PGA Tour all season which has included back-to-back wins at the Honda Classic and WGC-Cadillac Championship. He was world number one two years ago and I fancy him to do very well this week.
South America: Emiliano Grillo - The Argentine has been a bit quiet this season since his victories at the Web.com Tour Championship and Frys.com Open late last year. He definitely has the game to compete at the top and may well score you some points this week.
