Fantasy Golf stats round-up
Rory McIlroy won 607 points thanks to his victory in Dubai
Rory McIlroy clinched the DP World Tour Championship, the Race to Dubai title and 607 points for a lot of the Fantasy Golf teams.
When Rory McIlroy was sat on his sofa watching The Open this summer, his thoughts must have turned to what was left of the year.
In a surprise return from his ankle injury, he competed in the USPGA Championship, but never looked like a serious contender. It became clear that everything would come down to Dubai.
The opportunity to win his third end-of-year title in four years was presented to McIlroy after the European Tour generously handed him qualifying exemption to compete. It was at this point that the McIlroy machine sparked into life.

The cogs were whirring and the motor revving at the Turkish Airlines Open and the WGC-HSBC Champions. It was in Dubai that arguably the most well-oiled competitor in world golf pulled away from his rivals to clinch the Race to Dubai title...and 607 Fantasy Golf points.
You didn't need to be a seasoned Fantasy player to know that including McIlroy in your team when the stakes are high was the right move. He was exceptional on Sunday, finishing one shot clear of Andy Sullivan. If you picked the likable Englishman, you'll have still been no doubt very satisfied with the 517 points his second place finish earned.
