Here are the players to have in your fantasy teams this week for golf's unofficial fifth major:

USA 1: Rickie Fowler - The defending champion will look to become the first ever player to defend the Players Championship so the record books are against him, however he entered the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship with the lead and shot a two-over-par 74 to finish in T4th so his game is in good shape.

USA 2: Jordan Spieth - Fresh off Spring Break 2016, Spieth is making his first start since the Masters and who can back against the world number two on the big stage? Not me.

GB: Justin Rose - The Englishman was tied for the lead coming down the stretch at the Wells Fargo but came up one shy of the play-off, which James Hahn eventually won, to finish 3rd on his own.

Ireland: Rory McIlroy - The Ulsterman continues to show signs that his game is heading the right way as he closed with a 66 last week at Quail Hollow. He did throw in a couple of 73's on Thursday and Saturday and is still yet to win this year but perhaps it could all come together at Sawgrass.

Scandinavia: Henrik Stenson - My favourite for the week, as well as the GM Tipster's. Stenson has been the nearly-man on the PGA Tour this year with two top 3's and two other top 11 finishes. He won the Players back in 2009 and has been striking the ball as well as ever this year. Don't discount David Lingmerth either, the PGA Tour winner has a second-placed finish on tour this year and finished in T2nd behind Tiger Woods at the Players in 2013.

Rest of Europe: Sergio Garcia - Sergio won the Players in 2008 and finished T2nd last year after losing out in the play-off. He finished 2nd here in 2007, 3rd in 2014 and T8th in 2013. He loves the place.

Asia: Hideki Matsuyama - Hideki won the Waste Management Phoenix Open this year and was first round leader at the Players in 2015 at five-under, eventually finishing in a tie for 17th.

Africa: Branden Grace - Paired with Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, the RBC Heritage winner will be looking to impress in front of the inevitably large crowds that will follow his group.

Australasia: Jason Day - The world number one has had a week off after his T5th finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. In his last seven events on tour he's had two wins, a top five, two top 11s and two top 23s.

South America: Fabian Gomez - The Argentine is fresh off a T9th finish at Quail Hollow which is very respectable considering he began the week with a three-over-par 75. He also won the 2015 St. Jude Classic and 2016 Sony Open.
