Fantasy Focus: Scottish Open; John Deere

The PGA Tour is in Illinois this week, but the Scottish Open is attracting some of its biggest players.

This week the PGA Tour stops in Silvis, Illinois for the John Deere Classic, where Brian Harman will defend and Jordan Spieth, the 2013 champion, will start.

Steve Stricker will also be in field aiming to win the tournament for the fourth time in his career.

The Scottish Open has attracted many of the PGA Tour's biggest names, including Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler.

Rory McIlroy will miss out after suffering ankle ligament damage, but there remain a number of major players on show a week before the Open.

Here are our selection of 2015 Open outsiders

GM Tips for this week:

USA 1: Rickie Fowler - The American finished T8 at the Scottish Open last year and would be one of the Americans most likely to make an impression in Gullane.

USA 2: Jordan Spieth - After winning the 2013 edition of the John Deere and winning two majors since then, it would be hard to look past Spieth having a good week in the run-up to the Open.

Great Britain: Justin Rose - The Englishman won the Scottish Open last year by two shots. There's no reason why he can't do the same again, particularly with no Rory McIlroy.

Ireland: Shane Lowry - A T4 finish for Lowry at last year's tournament in Scotland will give him hope coming into the last tournament before the Open.

Scandinavia: Kristoffer Broberg - Swede Broberg was just two shots off Justin Rose's winning total of 268 last year in Scotland. He's a good tip to repeat a similar feat.

Rest of Europe: Pablo Larrazabal - Combine the Spaniard's victory at the BMW Open with his T11 finish at the Scottish Open last year and you have yourself a strong bet.

Asia: Thongchai Jaidee - A T10 finish at the French Open last week will give Jaidee confidence at a tournament he ended up off the pace at last year.

Africa: Branden Grace - A mixed year for Grace was undoubtedly boosted by his T4 at the US Open. He's the highest-ranked South African in the field.

Australasia: Danny Lee - Fresh from his win at the Greenbrier Classic, the Kiwi will be in confident mood ahead of his turnout at TPC Deere Run.

South America: Jhonattan Vegas - The Venezuelan lead the Greenbrier after two rounds and will look to carry any confidence gained from that into the John Deere Classic.
