77 HUNSTANTON
Architect: Fernie 2006 position: 73 Stats: 6,741 yds; par 72; SSS 73 GF: £55-£85 T: 01485 532811 W: hunstantongolfclub.com
The course offers some fantastic views of the surrounding area including windmills, the cliffs at Hunstanton, the beach east towards Brancaster and the clubhouse looming in the distance on your turn for home.
The finishing three holes are a delight, starting with a par 3 where, in 1974, club member Bob Taylor famously holed-in-one in three successive rounds.
The 17th has a narrow green tucked shelf-like into the ridge and is the club’s signature hole, but the new 18th, also on the seaward side, is just as tough.
Keep it straight and you’ll have a good chance of scoring well. SP
+ Traditional links; good value, especially in winter - Parts of the clubhouse and locker rooms look a little tired
