Silloth on Solway features a succession of fascinatingly individual holes, and is possibly the best value course in our Top 100

49 SILLOTH ON SOLWAY
Architect: Grant 2006 position: 31 Stats: 6,600 yds; par 72; SSS 71 GF: £27-£54 T: 01697 331304 W: sillothgolfclub.co.uk
The routing plan and siting of the greens here takes full advantage of the elevation changes and dunes to provide a succession of fascinatingly individual holes.
There are wonderful views of the Cumbrian Hills and across the Solway Firth to Scotland beyond.
The course has some exceptional holes that you will be eager to play again, such as the ruggedly charming long 13th, a colossal hole rising slowly to an elevated green.
A particular favourite is the 3rd, a clever par-4 dog-leg left of no great length. Make par here and all is right with the world. SP
+ Possibly the best value course in our Top 100 - Off the beaten track; can appear a little bleak; odd 1st green
