The Robert Trent Jones Senior design at Adare Manor near Limerick opened for play in 1995 and was the venue for the Irish Open in both 2007 and 2008. Laid out over 230 acres of mature parkland, a 14-acre lake dominates the front nine, before the winding River Maigue comes into play on the run for home. The par-5 18th plays back towards the Gothic Manor House and requires a precise approach across the river to a narrow green. Huge variety of teeing grounds make this playable for the whole spectrum of handicaps.
Panellists' comments: "Fabulous views of the river, the lake, the wonderfully varied trees and the Manor"; "The 18th is very special"
