Croome's original philosophy for this tree-lined course was to create a design that is 'strategic' rather than 'penal'; one where all golfers need to think their way round. This approach extends to its greatest defence; fast greens with subtle breaks. Recent bunker work and heather regeneration add to the test at this beautiful Hampshire track.
