Moortown was laid out over part-woodland, part-moorland terrain on Black Moor in 1908. Play began in 1909 with an official exhibition match between Braid and Vardon the following year. The bunkering on the signature par-3 10th - ‘Gibraltar'- stands out visually, bringing to mind Woodhall Spa's Hotchkin course.
Panellists' comments: "A very proud and historic club which takes the time and effort to make the golfer feel welcome"
