Occupying a glorious expanse of west Surrey heathland, the course and surrounding area are classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and it's hard not to feel at one with nature during your round. Hankley is impeccably and sensitively maintained and the fine, sandy turf has links-like playing characteristics. There are several cracking holes, most notably the par-3 7th and the extremely tough closing hole which requires an approach over a deep, wide grass gully - as testing a finish as you will find.
Panellists' comments: "A fantastic sense of space"; "Inspiring views" ; "Genuine value when compared with some Surrey tracks"
