Gorse-lined, bisected by burns and pock-marked by perilous pot bunkers, Nairn delivers classic Scottish links golf. It's an out-and-back layout with the sea visible on nearly every hole. The first seven play right alongside the water and there is a slight tinge of disappointment when you move inland from them, although the test does not let up.
Panellists' comments: "Great combination of understated design and variety of holes"; "Impeccably high standard of greenkeeping"
