Blairgowrie GC

Scotland is world famous for its links golf and wizened old caddies insisting that freezing conditions are positively balmy. But there are loads of beautiful parkland courses that won't put you at risk of frost bite and few better than the Rosemont at Blairgowrie Golf Club in Perthshire. For those whgo aren't familiar with Perth, it's a beautiful area that marks a comparatively gentle beginning to the spectacular Highland landscape.

The tranquil course fuses a heathland feel with pine and silver birch, that obviously makes it a tricky prospect. The outward nine is relatively short - only three holes measure more than 400 yards - but it's the inward nine where the course asserts its authority.

The 16th is a 475 yard par 4 that skirts a loch and features trees left and a heavily bunkered green. The 18th is a great left-to-right dogleg that concludes on a treacherous two tiered putting surface.

Best Hole: The final hole is one of the toughest on the hole requiring a draw off the tee and an accurate iron shot.
