Ashridge GC
Ashridge is a fantastic course cut through dense woodland on the edge of the Chiltern Hills
Once home of the legendary British golfer Henry Cotton, Ashridge is a fantastic course cut through dense woodland on the edge of the Chiltern Hills near Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire.
Currently an Open championship qualifying course, Ashridge will present a reasonable test to any golfer, but its five reachable par 5s provide good scoring opportunities for the low handicapper. With all 18 holes of the highest quality it's difficult to pick out one as a feature hole, but this course must be played to be appreciated, and will be particularly enjoyed by the nature and wildlife worshippers amongst you, as herds of deer roam freely around the course.
The newly-built clubhouse is slightly out of keeping with the surroundings, but offers great facilities with a couple of bars and good bit of food to keep you entertained while you work out where it all went wrong!
Best Hole: Tough to pick just one hole ? all the par-5s represent good scoring opportunities. And you?ll probably need to take your chance.
Green Fees: £55 per round, £77 per day
